Free wedding at Steinhausen Castle – Eileen & Tobi

October 25, 2022 - Free wedding, Wedding

At the end of last year, we did a fantastic couple shoot with Eileen and Tobi. This shoot was a little highlight for me, marking the end of the wedding season. You can watch it here: for the shootEven back then, I was very impressed by the magical chemistry between the two. This made me even more excited about the non-denominational wedding ceremony, which took place last month at Steinhausen Castle. Now I'd like to share these photos with my readers.

Getting Ready by Tobi

Eileen and Tobi had organized the day so they could get ready in a house with two different entrances. This always makes the day much easier, as it eliminates many unnecessary trips. As a photographer, this allows me to efficiently capture both the bride's and groom's preparations. In most cases, I need much less time for the groom than for the bride. Usually, 15-20 minutes is enough.

By the way, I have published a new post on the blog in which I share my best tips for a great “getting ready”. Feel free to take a look there.

Getting Ready by Eileen

I don't think too many people should accompany you during the getting ready phase. Time often runs out at the end, and it can be distracting to be constantly approached or have to take care of new things. Best men, siblings, close friends, and parents are probably the best choices.

Free wedding at Steinhausen Castle

Steinhausen Castle is a beautiful location for a non-religious wedding. It offers a magnificent backdrop for both the ceremony itself and the couple's photoshoot. Metal and stone sculptures by African artists provide a special visual highlight.

Eileen and Tobi opted for a traditional first look at the altar, rather than the so-called "first look" before the ceremony, as is very popular these days. Nevertheless, Eileen opted for a first look with her mother. Many couples often don't consider such options, even though it can be a very intimate and unique moment. You can find more tips for a special "first look" experience in my corresponding blog post. Just click here.

Couple shoot

The practical thing about a beautiful location is that you don't have to travel anywhere specifically for the couple's photoshoot. This saves a lot of time and takes the pressure off the couple on their special day. Steinhausen Castle is definitely one of those locations. If you want even more variety, we recommend an "after-wedding shoot." I've described what this is and the advantages it offers in a separate blog post. Here is the link.
